July 2008
 OUR MIRACLE!!!
On July 4th, 2008 my husband, Steve and I went to
Canyon Lake (Texas) for the weekend and to look over
the property we have purchased for our retirement home.
On Saturday, July 5th, we decided to take a helicopter
tour over the property to obtain some good aerial photos.
We boarded the chopper at approx. 3:40 and the two of
us along with pilot Jim (30+yr Army Helicopter Pilot) we
soared into the sky over the beautiful hill country.  We
flew directly over Canyon Lake and the water was
absolutely beautiful.  We found the property without a
hitch.  After circling around several times and me busy
taking picture after picture, the pilot decided to bring us
down to a hover so we could get a good idea of an
approximate two story view.  We only hovered for literally
about 10-20 seconds before the pilot began to lift the
chopper.  At that moment the craft began to shudder and
then began to spiral out of control.  The moment I
realized we were in trouble I began to call on the Name of
the Lord!  'In JESUS NAME!  In JESUS NAME" were the
only words I could get out of my mouth and I
undoubtedly had a death grip on my camera.  The next
thing I knew we crashed!  The impact was something that
I shall not soon forget.  The sound of the craft slamming
into the stony ground and the crunching sound of metal
being bent and twisted was quite horrendous not to
mention the jolt that my body felt.  However, once we
came to a halt we all realized that we had miraculously
survived the crash and now it was time to get out quickly
in case it should erupt into flames.  Steve quickly exited
the craft and opened my door.  That was when I realized I
had sustained an injury to my left foot.  I heard voices
and looked up to see that a man and his wife who
miraculously witnessed the crash come to our aid.  Alex
and my husband then carried me from the craft to their
vehicle since I could not walk.  The pilot came up to me
and apologized profusely for the accident and then went
on to say,
"Ma'am, I have no doubt in my mind that your prayers are
what saved us today.  Thank you for praying!"  Of course,
even in my state of shock (or was I just at peace because
of God's hand?) I responded, "Well my mom always
taught me who to call on in the time of need and we were
definitely in a time of need!" (May I insert here that His
word tells us that at the very MENTION of His Name, He is
there! And I have witnessed that over and again and
especially in this situation).

Alex and his wife kindly took us back into town to retrieve
our vehicle where my husband transported me to the ER
room for treatment.  Of course, the way my foot looked
and felt we were certain that there were broken bones.
After X-rays and a visit with the doctor, he shook his
head and said, "Amazingly enough, there isn't a sign of a
broken bone anywhere!"  My husband and I looked at
each other and grinned and said "Thank You Jesus!"  We
KNEW the Master Physician had already been on the
scene.

When I look back at the situation and realize all the
"could have been's"  I am so THANKFUL that God  had
His mighty Hand upon us throughout the entire ordeal.
And may I add, the chopper came down right between
some trees and did not hit so much as a limb!  That was
just another God thing.  See pictures below:
